🎣 Fishing Profession

Fishing is one of the three Profession Systems that can be done on the Savage Coast.

Fishing allows you to catch different sea creatures, which are used in crafting Tonics. For more details, see the Tonic System section.

💡 Tip: It’s highly recommended to start with Foraging first, at least until you receive a Combination Kit.

🎩 Prerequisites: The Fisherman Hat

Before you begin foraging, you must obtain a Fisherman Hat. This is required to access fishing spots and interact with fishes.

• How to Get a Fisherman Hat:

  • First-time Players: Speak to the Caretaker NPC to receive a free 3-day Fisherman Hat.
  • Crafting a Permanent Fisherman Hat:

    • Visit the Professional Hatter NPC (Main Hall).

    • Requirements:

      • 1 Hat [1]
      • 100 Bill of Birds
      • 200 Conch
  • Bait: Buy from the Caretaker NPC. Each fishing attempt requires 1 Bait.

🪱 Types of Bait

There are four (4) types of baits for fishing:

• Wriggling Bait: For general use; the most basic bait.
• Jumping Bait: Higher chance to catch DEX and LUK fishes.
• Juicy Bait: Higher chance to catch STR and INT fishes.
• Lively Bait: Higher chance to catch AGI and VIT fishes.

📋 Fishing Tasks

🎣 Level 1 Foraging

• Speak to Oscar (Fishing Instructor) to unlock Level 1 Fishing.

• Receive 10 Wriggling Baits and get started!

🎣 Level 2 Fishing

• Fish 20 times, then return to Oscar to complete the task. He gives you an Azure Sea Star.
• Fish an additional 15 times for the next task.

• Oscar will ask you to catch 15 Slimy Eels.
• Fish 75 more times to get the next task.

• Oscar will ask you to craft 5 Dash Juice:

  • Each requires 1 Slimy Eel + 1 Insect Husk (from Foraging Profession).
  • Use the Combination Kit to craft these.
• Return to Oscar to unlock Level 2 Fishing. You may now use Jumping Bait, Juicy Bait, and Lively Bait.

🎣 Level 3 Fishing

• Fish 50 times, then speak to Oscar.

• Defeat 2 Aquarings (low chance spawn after foraging. interact 4x to defeat them).

  • 
• Return to Oscar for the next task.

• Oscar will ask you to catch 30 fishes.

• Return to Oscar after completing the task.

• He will now ask you to bring 5 Tonics to complete the final task:

  • Refer to the Tonic System for more information.

🌼 How to Fish

1. Get the Fishing Skill: Talk to Oscar.

2. Begin Fishing:

   • Stand near an area of water.

   • Use the Choose Bait skill.

   • Use Interact skill to cast a line.

   • When the bobber starts shaking, spam the Interact skill.

   • When the bobber stops moving, stop spamming.

   • Repeat the process to continue fishing.
